Michelle Annette Ward

Michelle Annette Ward, who writes about health, fitness and beauty for the ShapeUp column, is majoring in convergence journalism and political science at the University of Missouri, with hopes of attending law school after graduation. She enjoys including her middle name in all references to herself and is addicted to being too busy.

Born in Washington, D.C., Michelle has spent the past two decades living in various cities in Virginia, North Carolina, Texas and Missouri. She considers Dallas to be her true home, though, and is proud to call herself a Texan, accent and all. As part of her weekly routine, she is actively involved in the Society of Professional Journalists, Honors College Ambassadors, Greek Judicial Board and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Michelle also works in the business department of KCOU 88.1 FM and anchors The Pulse news program once a week.

In keeping with her passion for fitness, Michelle works part-time at the University of Missouri Recreation Center and can be seen standing behind the Brewer Station desk renting out fitness equipment and utilizing her southern charm. She spends the rest of her weekends at Going Bonkers Family Fun Center, hosting birthday parties and selling health food like pizza, ice cream and nachos.
